PLANTING NATIVE WILDFLOWERS IN AUTUMN
The neat thing about native wildflower species is that they evolved based on our
climate. Native wildflowers have a build-in mechanism that optimizes their reproductive success when exposed to our cold winters, which is called
Seed Bombs originated as a ancient Japanese tradition called Tsuchi Dango, meaning ‘Earth Dumpling’. Seed bombs were reintroduced and revolutionized by Masanobu Fukuoka, a Japanese microbiologist and pioneer of natural farming. Who believed in sustainable agriculture, letting nature take its course over a plant, as in natural selection. He planted vegetable seed bombs, seed bombing riverbeds, roadsides and wastelands allowing the plants to grow up wild. He believed that "Mother Nature takes care of the seeds we sow and decides which crops to provide us with, like a process of natural selection, because ultimately nature decides what will grow and when germination...

Busy, Busy. We kicked things off at the farmers market last week (kinsmen cornwall famers market at the St. Lawrence College) and had an amazing turnout.
